BYD BATTERY BOX PREMIUM INTERNET CONNECTION

There are many advantages to the BYD Battery Box Premium but there is one that we would like to highlight today: the internet connection. As some of you may already know, the entire Premium range can be very easily linked to the internet with direct ethernet connection to a router/switch; in the case of high voltage HVM / HVS the connection is from the BCU and in the case of low voltage LVL / LVS this link is made from the BMU.
  • Maintain your customers' systems with the latest firmware versions for better performance.
  • Act in a quick and easy way to help you in case you need support/service with your system.
We know that the security of your data is a very important point. That is why BYD is strict about the data it receives from the battery on its servers. None of the data collected refers to personal aspects of the system owner. BYD will only be able to identify systems by the Serial Number but never the owner or installer of the system. BYD will be able to contact EFT-Systems as the support provider with the serial number if the system is registered with their Online Service Centerin case of incidence.

    TECHNICAL DATA

    LVS/LVL: BMU

Both the Battery-Box Premium LVS and LVL use the same BYD external battery management unit called "BMU" (Battery Management Unit) and each battery module has an internal "BMS" (Battery Management System), which serves to:
    • Enable communication between the BMS (Battery Management System) and the inverter.
    • Optionally connect the battery to the Internet for remote support and updates.
    • "Broadcast" the wifi signal to configure the battery with your phone and the BeConnect app.
    • You will need one BMU per plant / inverter cluster.
    Expert advice:
    • In HVS_HVM high voltage systems the BMU is part of the BCU (Battery Control Unit) and is therefore not required as an external component.
    • In LVS, despite being similar in design to the high voltage ones, we have a PDU which does require the external BMU component.
    • During the firmware update of the equipment the BMU and BMS version will appear and both must be updated. The BMU version is updated on the fly and will send the command to the BMS which can take up to 30 minutes from the time the battery communicates with the inverter.
